don’t walk alone

Sometimes hard things happen that feel too scary or shameful to share. Combine that with an over-taxed schedule and it can be easy to walk alone with a huge burden on your back, unaware of its full weight which is crippling your movement forward.

We all experience different "hard" things in life, but there are some common themes that unite us...

  • Feeling afraid or anxious

  • Feeling embarrassed, guilty or ashamed

  • Feeling overwhelmed and/or depressed

  • Feeling disappointed

  • Feeling (or fearing) a sense of loss

  • Feeling a need for some sense of control

Feelings like these are all part of the human experience, and we were never meant to navigate them alone.

I love the reminder in Genesis that God created Eve BEFORE anything bad happened in the garden. Even though Adam was literally walking wtih God every day in paradise, God decided it was "not good" for him to be alone.

It's not good for YOU to be alone either.

If you are walking through a difficult season, I encourage you to reach out for support, whether that's asking people to pray in a specific way, finding a counselor, or being intentional about spending time with someone who is strong in the area where you feel the weakest.

If things are going great for you, ask God to bring to mind someone YOU can be offering support to right now.

Life is a journey full of ups and downs. Let's stop buying the lie that we're supposed to go it alone and be intentional about living in the community we were created for.

For TRUTH...
