your creativity is (also) for YOU

As you might have noticed, I’ve rebranded again. And this time I decided to add a little color. Because that’s TRUE for me in this season.

I was also super blessed to have an amazing photoshoot with a friend/client I did some trade-out with. I like that I’m smiling directly at you now, instead of looking off to the side.

(Though I did end up with one of those kinds of shots as well, which I like too, and put at the top of my brand new website. I’ll write more about my process with all of this in a future post…)

Anyway, as part of my rebrand I needed to restyle my entire blog, post by post - which is what these newsletters become. This meant I ended up rereading lots of what I had written to you these past few years.

And as I did, I found myself unexpectedly encouraged - by my OWN writing!

So often we focus our creativity toward ministering to others in some way. But what if Jesus wants to bless us with it too?

Some of you are super great about this, I know. But in case you’re like me and get so focused on pouring-out that you forget to pause in wonder at what God is doing through you, might I encourage you to take a moment in the next 24 hours and do something a little crazy?

  • Reread something you wrote a while ago and receive the truth of it for today.

  • Revel in the beauty of something you’ve designed, and maybe even share it with a friend so you can enjoy it together.

  • Listen to a song you’ve written - without judgment - and let the music wash over your soul.

  • Watch a talk you’ve given or something you’ve filmed as if YOU are in your original target audience…

And then take a moment to be GRATEFUL for the transformative power of the creativity God chose to entrust to you for such a time as this. Because it really is pretty cool to get to do the kinds of things He’s given us to do.

Being intentional about enjoying what God pours out through us is not selfish; it’s actually good stewardship.

In doing so, we become yet another recipient of the impact God intended. Which means it was His plan all along. And, like with my own posts that recently blessed me years after writing them, His timing is always perfect.

For TRUTH…
